The American Humane Association, formed in 1877 with the mission of preventing animal cruelty, abuse, neglect, and exploration of both children and animals, recently announced several appointments and promotions to their senior management and staff.

A total of eleven personnel advancements were made in order to support Robin Ganzert, Ph.D., who was named President and CEO of the American Humane Association in October of 2010.  Ganzert stated, “With these newest top-tier additions and promotions in our leadership team, American Humane Association is making great new strides in meeting the key challenges facing the welfare, wellbeing and wellness of America's children and animals—society's most vulnerable—over the next century.”

Paul Raybaud, previously the executive vice president at Morris Animal Foundation, was named strategic philanthropic advisor. Sean Hawkins, previously the executive director of the Cesar and Illusion Millan Foundation, was named director of strategic partnerships. Hawkins is the creator of and executive producer of the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards program, which aired in recent months.

Other appointments included Ken Mountcastle named to corporate relations officer to recruit new corporate relationships, Kemi Tignor as senior philanthropic advisor to target major gifts and planned giving, and Kimberly Breisacher as director of marketing and e-philanthropy. Breisacher has increased online fundraising by 30 percent and social media activity by 913 percent, the association reported.

In addition to the above noted appointments, six internal promotions occurred including Kathi Brock from director of strategic partnerships with the organization’s Farm Animal Program to senior director of the Humane Heartland program; Tim Redden from from senior director of corporate and donor relations to vice president of philanthropic services; Katrina Jurgill Briddell from foundation relations director to senior director; and Audrey Lang from human resources director to chief of staff.
