Petsmart Inc., recently announced the appointment of Robert Moran to the position of Chairman of the Board. Moran replaced Phil Francis in this position effective January 30, 2012. Moran was President of Petsmart since 2009 and President and COO from 2001 to 2009.
Francis will remain a director at Petsmart, as he has been in that position since the late 1980s. Francis was named president and CEO in 1998 and became chairman in 1999.
In addition to appointing Moran as Chairman, Petsmart also promoted David Lenhardt to President and COO as of January 30, 2012. Lenhardt joined Petsmart as the senior vice president of services, strategic planning and business development in 2000. Reporting to Lenhardt will be Joseph O’Leary, executive vice president of merchandising, marketing, supply chain and strategic planning.
Chip Molloy has been appointed to the position of executive vice president in addition to serving as CFO for Petsmart. He will assume the legal function and real estate responsibilities for the company.

Employing approximately 48,000 associates, PetSmart, Inc., has more than 1,197 stores and over 185 in-store PetSmart(R) PetsHotel(R) dog and cat boarding facilities.
