The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) recently announced it is seeking proposals from veterinary professionals and other individuals who would like to present a session at the 2013 AVMA Annual Convention taking place in Chicago, Illinois, July 20 through July 23, 2013.
Registration for the 2012 AVMA Convention taking place in San Diego, California in August, will open on January 19, 2012. Interested parties are able to book hotel reservations at this time and may glean more at the AVMA website registration page. During the 2012 convention, up to 42 hours of continuing education credits may be earned along with networking opportunities and over 360 educational sessions from which to choose.
The 2012 AVMA Convention will be held at Chicago’s McCormack Place which is located minutes from downtown Chicago and attracts close to three million visitors yearly. Call for speakers for the 2012 convention is closed.
Program proposals for the 2013 AVMA Convention can be submitted electronically as of January, 2012. Proposal questions are to be directed to Patricia Kmak, speaker coordinator, at pkmak@avma.org or by calling 800-248-2862 ext. 6622.
Attendees of the 2012 convention will have access to educational opportunities for veterinarians, technicians, and practice managers. In addition to four days of lectures, there will also be 31 interactive DVM and technician labs, poultry medicine program and posters, "Inside the Issues," and late-breaking "Hot Topics," 14 hands-on computer labs, and sponsored symposia.
The AVMA has developed CE level ratings to help attendees select the educational sessions to best advance their own career and practice.
