BISSELL Homecare Contributes $50,000 to Petfinder.com Foundation
BISSELL Homecare, Inc., recently contributed $50,000 to the Petfinder.com Foundation in 2011 and ran an online campaign to help spread the word about pet clean up not affecting a potential adoption.
Rich Sorota, senior vice president and general manager of global marketing and sales for BISSELL reported, “We support adoption groups like the Petfinder.com Foundation because we ultimately want to see more homeless pets find their forever homes. It’s our hope that grants like these will help educate more Americans about one of the major barriers to adoption—pet clean-up.”
Over the summer months from June 27 through September 23, $30,000 was raised through an online campaign to Like BISSELL, Love Pets. The money was disbursed in a series of grants to 10 Petfinder.com shelters and rescue groups in need of help.
In the early part of 2011, BISSELL also contributed $20,000 to fund an animal shelter rehab project in Eastern Kentucky led by Rescue University. Interested parties can log on and watch the shelter renovation efforts by watching The Dog Files Episode 14: Rescue U.
Since 1876, BISSELL has been developing cleaning tools designed to keep one’s living environment up to the highest standards, according to the company’s website. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, BISSELL Homecare, Inc., is the top-selling brand of floor care appliances in North America and is expanding worldwide. The company is presently in its fourth generation of family leadership.
The Petfinder.com Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity that was founded in 2003. They have provided over $15 million in grants since their inception to animal welfare organizations and Petfinder.com member shelters and rescue groups.
