A lesson plan for teachers designed to help students learn how to care for small pets, such as hamsters and rabbits, has been released as a free download.
CareFRESH Critter College is a lesson kit covering eight topics related to small pet care.
The program is free and meets national and state standards for science, math and language arts. Each lesson takes between 15 and 30 minutes and focuses on topics targeted to young caregivers, including safe pet snacks, how to tell if a pet is sick, exercising the pet, and creating a happy habitat.
CareFRESH is a company that offers a variety of habitat and food products for small pets, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils and ferrets, plus birds and reptiles.
