ND2K, LLC, recently launched iDogEvents, an iOS mobile app for dog lovers. The app allows users to share dog events, photos, and videos with one another. Organizations are able to use the app for event promotion for free and users can then help cross promote the event when they arrive, post status updates, videos, and pictures.
ND2K, LLC tout themselves as a leading innovator of dog world technology, featuring TopK9s.com and BullyNet.com as two of their sites. In 2008, TopK9s broadcast a live web stream of the National Dog Show followed by the Bullldog Club of America National Club show. This was a stream of live events spanning 10 days of video streaming, free of charge. Because of this success, folks at ND2K realized they needed to develop a dog event app.
With an estimated 78 million dogs in United States home and Apple having sold over 42 million iPhones during their last fiscal year, ND2K decided to capitalize on this growth. iDogEvents links events and people in the dog world with pet owners, veterinarians and groomers, and even allows for tracking of dog walks or competitive events. The company hopes the events will go “viral” due to the ease of sharing via status updates, videos, and pictures.
In addition to events, dog owners can share events such as moments in their homes, a visit to the vet, a walk at the pet supply store, or other dog-themed “events” via the app. Crowd sourcing for the latest news and information live for shows all over the planet is the goal of the iDogEvents app.
