Chicago Canine Rescue’s Mutt Strut took place recently for the eighth year in a row, with
Lickety Stik as a partner in the charitable event. Lickety Stix is carried by PetSafe.
Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee since its inception in 1991, PetSafe has over 400 employees who are allowed to bring their dogs to work daily. The company made its debut with the In-Ground Radio Fence system and is now home to SportDOG® brand and other brands like Premier® Pet Products, Drinkwell® Pet Fountains, and Innotek® training products.
For the 8th consecutive year, Chicago Canine Rescue’s Mutt Strut event proved to be a great success for both pet lovers and their four-legged friends. On Saturday, October 8th, local community members came together in Chicago’s beloved Lakeview neighborhood for a day of fun-filled activities to raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption.
The Chicago Canine Mutt Strut was held on October 8, 2001, in the Lakeview neighborhood of the city. With over 350 pet parents and their animals in attendance, this event was the biggest Mutt Strut to date. Some celebrities who attended the event included WCIU’s Aly Bockler, pet personality Steve Dale, Miss Illinois and Congressman Mike Quigley.
As a Top Dog sponsor, Lickety Stix donated $2,500 worth of treats to the event and helped Chicago Canine Rescue raise over $50,000 towards their move to a larger shelter. The rescue group has been trying to find homes for animals since 2001. Over the past 10 years, they have helped in saving the lives of over 3,000 Chicago-area animals.
