Dogtown Media, LLC, with offices in Los Angeles and London, recently released an iPhone app called Dog Boogie, designed to “enhance the relationship between pet owners and their four-legged friends,” according to the company. Dogtown Media develops and deploys apps for the iPhone, iPad, and Android phones.
Dog Boogie is an app targeting pet owners who wish to brag about their dogs and learn more about canines in general. Some of the app features include a dog fact book, which contains an encyclopedia-like history of breeds with their temperament, physical appearance, and high quality photos. Users of the app can flip through thousands of dog photos and rate each image based on its level of “cuteness appeal,” on a scale of one to five stars.
Using a personalized profile around their dog’s interests, users can create and save essential information such as dog birthday, breed, and their favorite snacks. Dog Boogie photos are able to be shared via Twitter, Facebook, and via e-mail. The account can be automatically backed up via cloud, which allows for account restoration on an iPhone should a phone get lost.
Dog Boogie app co-developer, Rob Pope, stated, “With an unshakeable admiration for man's best friend, we decided to develop an app that allows dog owners to engage with their pooch in ways never before possible, deepening the bond between pet and parent."
The Dog Boogie app is free on the iTunes app store, with forthcoming app releases titled Cat Boogie and Past Life Pets.
Dogtown Media offers turnkey solutions to user desiring the creation of their own app. If users have an app idea but are uncertain of how or where to start, Dogtown Media codes and programs the app and will design the icon along with user interface layout.
