Cesar Millan and David Wicks to be Honored at DogCatemy Rescue Awards Dinner
The annual DogCatemy Rescue Awards hosted by North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) will honor Cesar Millian, aka “The Dog Whisperer,” and David Wicks, President of the NASDAQ OMX Group. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2001, at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square, New York City.
Each year the red carpet benefit is held in conjunction with NSALA’s mission to rescue, nurture, and adopt nearly 20,000 animals into homes every year. The annual event will begin with the ringing of the closing bell at MarketSite and a red carpet event will follow. There, both Millan and Wicks will be honored.
John Stevenson, President of NSALA, reported, "Cesar Millan has truly set himself apart as a leader and adoption advocate. His generosity and financial support, as well as his commitment and extensive involvement in the Mutt-i-grees Curriculum are raising the standard for humane education.” Millan is being honored for his role in the humane field and honors him for his many contributions, including the founding of the Millan Foundation.
David Wicks will be honored with the NSALA Corporate Champion Award in appreciation for his continuing efforts in identifying opportunities to adopt homeless pets from shelters. "David Wicks has wholeheartedly embraced the Mutt-i-grees Movement, both professionally and personally," said Stevenson.
Host and Master of Ceremonies for the evening’s event will be FOX News Channels’ FOX and Friends co-host, Brian Kilmeade. Theme for the evening surrounds the expanding Mutt-i-grees Curriculum which involves young students learning the social and emotional skills and strategies to help shelter pets.
