Purina Dog Chow Teams up with Paramount Pictures in New Holiday Film
The Adventures of Tintin, an animated 3D film opening December 21, 2011, nationwide in theaters across America from Paramount Pictures, has teamed up with Purina Dog Chow brand dog food in a promotional effort to benefit three service and therapy dog organizations. Oscar winning director Steven Spielberg and Oscar winning producer Peter Jackson combined their talents for the 3D movie that chronicles a young reporter, Tintin, and his loyal dog, Snowy, in an epic adventure animated film.
Heather Gettys, Purina Dog Chow Senior Brand Manager, reported, “Purina® Dog Chow® loves to celebrate one-of-a-kind dogs like Tintin's pal Snowy that help improve the lives of families and individuals through the unique bond only a dog can provide. We encourage dog lovers to come together and join forces via our Facebook page to help us make a meaningful impact in the dog community this holiday season."
When consumers “LIKE” the Purina Dog Chow Facebook page, a $1 donation will be given and split equally between three service and therapy dog organizations featured on the page, up to $150,000. When consumers share the Facebook page with their friends and contacts, each friend who visits the promotional page will also enable $1 to be donated to the aforementioned causes. The program runs through January 3, 2012.
The three service and therapy dog organizations that will be supported by the Purina Dog Chow Facebook page are Patriot Rovers, Inc., Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.), and the Delta Society.
Based on the international books and characters created by Herge, the film is based on a screenplay by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright, and Joe Cornish. It stars the voices of Jamie Bell and Daniel Craig.
