YouTube Talking Dog Sensation is Voice for Purina Product
Mishka, a "talking" dog whose videos on YouTube have merited over 200 million views, is the new "spokesdog" in a Purina ad that will air during the National Dog Show on Thanksgiving Day. The show is being presented by Purina and will air on NBC-TV immediately following the annual Macy's parade.
During the 30-second advertising spot, canine sensation Mishka will express her full range of vocal talents as she promotes Purina’s FortiFlora Nutritional Supplement. She will first channel the plight of dogs with digestive upset and then voice her happiness as the dogs feel better with FortiFlora.
FortiFlora is made with a special strain of probiotics proven to promote intestinal health and balance. For both dogs and cats with gastrointestinal upset, pet owners may purchase it from a veterinarian and then sprinkle it on their pet’s food.
"Mishka has made a name for herself as a 'talking' dog, and her most well-known phrase is 'I love you,'" says her owner, Matt Gardea, adding that Mishka offers this signature line at the end of the ad in appreciation for feeling better.
Purina’s marketing manager, Nancy Boyle, cited a recent study Purina did that revealed almost one in every four pets has had some sort of gastrointestinal issue or incident over the past year. The upset might have diarrhea, vomiting, or poor appetite, but one in four were affected. Boyle stated, “GI problems stress both pets and their owners. We think this ad will be a fun and memorable way for owners to learn about how they can help their pets get back to being themselves.”
