A recent survey done by petMD, a leading source of pet health and well-being information, revealed just how much influence a pet has on pet owners.
PetMD announced the results of the first annual petMD Pet Owners Survey. The survey, which in May polled 1,500 U.S. pet owners, shows that pet owners genuinely consider their pets to be part of their family and major decisions are not made without considering how they will impact the pet.
Highlights of the 2011 petMD Pet Owners Survey Include:
- 90% of pet owners would fight more passionately for their pets than for money in a divorce
- 73% would choose their pet over a human if they could only have one friend
- 66% of pet owners would not vote for a presidential candidate who is perceived not to like pets
