Vets Plus, Inc. Announces New Product for Dogs
Vets Plus, Inc. (VPI), manufacturer and distributor of animal health and nutrition products, recently announced the launch of Probios Soft Chews for dogs. The chews are touted as containing both probiotics and prebiotics for healthy digestive system maintenance in dogs.
“Palatability and quality ingredients are everything when you are deciding what to give to your pet. Our Probios® Soft Chews contain quality ingredients that are not only tasty, but easy-to-chew and they have had more than a 95 percent palatability acceptance among dogs during trials we’ve conducted,” said VPI President and CEO Raj Lall.
VPI was founded in 1990 by Raj Lall and began manufacturing animal health and nutrition products from its beginnings. With a strategic marketing and manufacturing alliance formed by 2002, VPI earned the license to market and manufacture the Probios line of products. From the years 2005 to 2010, the company was known as BOMAC Vets Plus, Inc., after reaching an agreement with Bomac of New Zealand. After acquiring BOMAC New Zealand by Bayer (Germany) in late 2010, the company transitioned back to Vets Plus, Inc. They are located in Knapp, Wisconsin and are housed within 100,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse, and office space. A member of the American Pet Products Association (APPA), VPI manufactures more than 350 products.
The Probios Soft Chews for dogs are available in 1 gram and 4 gram sizes for small dogs, and medium and large dogs, respectively. The company states the beneficial bacteria is similar to that found in yogurt for consumers. Lall continued, “We are very excited to help put pet parents and families in a situation where their dogs get excited when they reach for the jar, not run away!”
