Dogtopia Dog Daycare Franchise Expands United States Reach
The Dogtopia dog daycare franchise recently signed four new franchise agreements in the United States. The latest Dogtopia locations include South Wilmington, Delaware; Midlothian, Virginia; Union County, New Jersey and Springfield, Virginia.
Since their launch in 2002, Dogtopia has grown to 24 locations nationwide and its layout is fashioned after an upscale human spa with a layout similar to a children’s daycare facility. In addition to daycare and boarding services, Dogtopia offers a spa, self-service dog wash, and boutique. CEO and founder of Dogtopia, Amy Nichols, announced they will soon offer pet products for both consumers and business owners in early 2012. Nichols began franchising in 2005.
“We’re in a great place now to expand the reach of our brand and services into more communities,” said Mike Schlegel, Vice President of Franchise Development. “We take passionate dog lovers and create exceptional business and we are excited about these new additions to the Dogtopia system. The growth of the franchise means that even more pet owners will soon have access to the high quality dog daycare and customer service we offer.”
As part of the new franchise agreement, Tammy Holm and her daughter, Christine, will operate the South Wilmington location in 2012, and Bob and Mary Beth Murphy will open a Dogtopia location in Midlothian. Adrienne Taub Weber will open a location in Union County, and Amber Sutton, Dogtopia’s first multi-unit owner, will be opening her second location in Springfield in early 2012.
Included in the amenities at Dogtopia locations are play equipment for dogs, rubber flooring aimed at easing joints and preventing slippage, and a multi-room web camera system for pet parents to monitor their dogs at all locations.
