Peggy Frezon is an award-winning writer, pet columnist, and author of the memoir Dieting with My Dog; one busy life, two full figures and unconditional love (Hubble & Hattie, October 2011). She lives in New York with her family and their little rescue dog, Kelly.
Endorsed by NY Times bestselling author Julie Klam, Biggest Loser’s Julie Hadden, and Animal Planet’s Joel Silverman, Dieting with my Dog shares the poignant and often humorous journey of one overweight woman and her chubby spaniel, struggling to get fit together. While Peggy initially sets out to help her dog get healthy, Kelly ends up being the motivating factor to help Peggy shed more than 40 pounds (and Kelly lost six pounds!).
Peggy is a regular contributor to Guideposts magazine and Angels on Earth magazine, and a winner of the Guideposts 2004 writing contest. In 2011 she won 3rd place in FIDO Friendly magazine’s Leave No Dog Behind writing contest. Her pet stories also appear in numerous Chicken Soup for the Soul books including Chicken Soup for the Soul - My Dog’s Life, and other books such as Animals and the Kids who Love Them, The Ultimate Dog Lover, and Miracles and Animals.
As staff writer for Be the Change for Animals, Frezon helps highlight worthy pet and animal causes. She also spotlights the bond between pets and people with her column “Animals 4people” and blogs at “Peggy’s Pet Place.” She is a member of the League of Vermont Writers, and the Dog Writers’ Association of America.
