American Pet Products Association Offers Pet Product Gift Giving Ideas
The American Pet Products Association (APPA) announced a plethora of play things and items just in time for holiday gift giving geared toward pets. The APPA is the largest not-for-profit trade association since 1958. According to their 2011-2012 National Pet Owners Survey, 62 percent of American households own a pet, so their list of gift giving items is timely for Fido, Fluffy, and more this holiday season.
Dog delights on the APPA’s list include Cuz® toys from JW Pet, a company that took home the “Best New Dog Product” award at 2011 Global Pet Expo. A durable natural rubber ball featuring feet and a squeaker, Cuz® toys, a variety of sizes and shapes are available. Other canine gift recommendations from APPA include Booties by Ultra Paws, CinnaMutt bowl by ModaPet, Bags on Board Waste-Pick-Up Dispensers, and the Wander Coat by Kurgo.
Continuing with the trend of pampering pets, feline products making the list include GoodBye Odor for Cats by Marshall Pet Products. Designed to stop litter box odors before they start, GoodBye Odor is made from a natural plant derivative created several centuries ago by Japanese herbalists and nutritionists. Rounding out the list for cat products are Barn Mouse by West Paw Design, KatKabin by Brinsea, and Yeowww-tide Candy Cane Cat Nip Toys by Ducky World.
From cats to the birdcage, feathered family members are not forgotten on the APPA list of recommended items. Candy Cane Toys by Super Bird and K&H Therma Perch, a thermostatically controlled perch, are two of the winged pet listings.
Rounding out the selections are fish, small animal, and reptile products. The Slink-E-Toy by Ware Manufacturing is designed for rabbits, ferrets, and other small animals. Slinky and stretchable, the spring action of this toy is designed to keep pets busy. Magic Globe Aquariums by Aquatica Gallery feature a built-in water filtration system for constant aeration and cycle-back of fresh water.
