Rob Thomas Announces Special Intimate Performances to Benefit Sidewalk Angels Foundation
Rocker Rob Thomas, successful song writer/solo artist and front man for the group Matchbox Twenty, announced plans for a set of intimate shows to benefit The Sidewalk Angels Foundation, the non-profit organization founded by Rob and his wife Marisol.
Thomas will return to the east coast for dates in late 2011 and early 2012. Both shows will be performed in a more up close and personal setting for Thomas to showcase and play his songbook of hits. "It's a chance for me, as a songwriter, to really highlight lyric and melody and to create different versions of songs that I've been playing for years," says Thomas.
Thomas will perform in Uncasville, Connecticut’s, Mohegan Sun on December 30th and Atlantic City's Borgata Casino January 6th and 7th, 2012. Tickets for these shows go on sale November 5, 2011. Thomas and Matchbox 20 are currently recording a new studio album slated for 2012 release.
The Sidewalk Angels Foundation was established by Rob and Marisol Thomas in an effort to provide funding to support grassroots groups across the United States. As a primary support and sponsor for no-kill animal shelters and rescues, the foundation is based in New York. Some of their non-animal causes include childhood health and wellness as well as the fight against homelessness. Abandoned and abused animals are a focus for Sidewalk Angels, including those who are destitute, homeless, or cannot afford proper medical care.
