Darlene Arden, is a certified dog and cat behavior consultant, an award-winning writer, a popular speaker, an adjunct professor, and the author of more than half a dozen pet books including, “Small Dogs, Big Hearts,” “Rover, Get Off Her Leg!,” “The Angell Memorial Animal Hospital Book of Wellness and Preventive Care for Dogs” and “The Complete Cat’s Meow.” She is an internationally recognized authority on Toy dogs and their care.
A former member of Dog Writers’ Association of America, Inc., and former director of the Cat Writers’ Association, she is a founding member of The International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, a member of Boston Authors and one of the few lay members of The American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians.
She has produced her own cable television program and is a frequent and popular guest on a wide range of radio and television programs internationally including Fox News Channel, “The Daily Show,” “The Jordan Rich Show” on CBS radio and as a consultant for an episode of the popular PBS program, “Nature.” Darlene has served as an Advisory Board member, Judge and Referee for the World Canine Freestyle Organization.
After having lived with a varied assortment of dogs, the latest addition to her family is a retired Chartreux show cat, GP Sinaye’s Plaisir d’Amour of Ajolie, better known as Aimee to her friends. As befits one of Darlene’s companions, Aimee executes a nice recall, a perfect Sit, can weave, spin and she does a version of the Singletary Footwalk, a Canine Musical Freestyle step.
Darlene’s passion for helping animals live longer and better lives shines through in all she does. Her goal is always the same, to enhance the lives of dogs and cats and to strengthen the human-animal bond.

Darlene's books top our bookshelf as well as are given as gifts to our friends who also read them and say they learned a lot from her expertise.We send home copies with out puppies,especially "Rover get off her leg " for our new puppy people for a resource for behavior later. always a good reference book to refer to.

A lovely tribute to a most well deserving person. Darlene Arden is everything this says she is and more. Her books are great and I encourage all animal people to read them.
