Aideen O’Mara has opened the Urban Tails Pet Resort in Dubai, complete with plasma televisions in all of the dog suites, air-conditioned rooms and an onsite gym. Webcams are conveniently placed all over the resort so owners can catch up with their furry friends. And classical music echoes throughout the communal areas of the resort to “promote calmness," O'Mara said.
“I came up with the idea of a pet resort as, first of all, most of the pets in Dubai use boarding facilities," said the Dubai resident. "And secondly, there was no facility in the country that was attempting to make boarding stress-free for the pet and their owners."
Prices start from $31 for the Junior Suite, with the slightly larger Deluxe and Urban Suites costing $37 and $39. The top-of-the-range Royal Suite costs $105 per night, with a personal butler and pick-up and delivery in the “pet limo” included.
