Veterinary Emergency + Critical Care Clinic has opened and is located at located at 8650 W. Tropicana Ave. Las Vegas has a shortage of animal care facilities and the few overnight care facilities close in the morning. Once veterinary offices close, animals have to be transported to another facility or sent home.
Animals can stay until their condition has stabilized, which alleviates the problem of costly transportation. “If your animal is here, it can stay until (the problem) is figured out and treated, rather than having to be moved around,” said Dave Mason, chief of staff at the Veterinary Emergency + Critical Care clinic. “There’s a lot of people who don’t want to take a day off from work to deal with their dog.”
Located in Spring Valley, the facility has four exam rooms, an intensive care unit and a surgery suite. The new clinic has a veterinarian and nurse assistants on the premise at all times. The clinic is 3,500 square feet and located next to the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, which is the preferred destination for serious cases.
