Go Daddy, the provider of web hosting, domain name registrations and net new SSL Certificates, is sponsoring Arizona Humane Society’s Annual Pet Telethon for a sixth consecutive year Saturday.
Go Daddy is keeping up its tradition of matching all online contributions made during the live telethon. That means Go Daddy will double every dollar donated online, up to $150,000.
“We’re looking to generate excitement and better yet – donations,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “These days every penny counts, so we wanted to give people a little extra incentive. Together we can definitely make a difference to help thousands of homeless animals in our community.”
The telethon helps raise essential funding for nearly 50,000 animals cared for each year in and around the Valley. Donations provide low-cost spay and neuter services, humane educational programs for pet care and animal cruelty prevention.
Go Daddy employees will be in the studio helping answer phones. The Valley-based Internet powerhouse will also support the AZHumane.org website to ensure it is up and running throughout the two-hour telethon, and beyond.
In addition to supporting Arizona’s pets, Go Daddy’s 2011 philanthropic work involves organizations focused primarily on helping women and children, with an emphasis on education and healthcare. Already this year, Go Daddy Cares, the company’s charity division, has donated more than $4.7 million to a variety of charities.
“Year after year, Go Daddy steps up in a big way with critical support for Arizona’s homeless animals,” said Guy Collison, executive director of the Arizona Humane Society. “We are fortunate to have generous, enthusiastic sponsors like Go Daddy.”
Go Daddy’s commitment to Arizona’s sheltered animals goes beyond the telethon. Go Daddy is also supporting Project 121: Action for Animals, a community outreach campaign dedicated to giving homeless animals a second chance at life. The project was named in honor of the 121 animals AHS takes in, on average, every day.
