AKC Foundation Recognizes Nestle Purina North American Pet Foods President with Prestigious Award
The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF), a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research to prevent, treat and cure canine disease, will honor Nestlé Purina PetCare Company's North American Pet Foods president, Terence E. Block, with its 2011 President's Award Saturday, August 13 during the 2011 National Parent Club Canine Health Conference dinner at the Purina Event Center in Gray Summit, Mo.
CHF annually presents the award to individuals, clubs and organizations that have made an exceptional contribution to advancing canine health.
"It is an honor to present Terry Block with this prestigious award," said Lee Arnold, CHF Chairman of the Board. "Throughout his career, Terry has continued to demonstrate his commitment to canine health research and the companion animal industry. Under his leadership, Purina has contributed more than $8.5 million to the Foundation. We pause to recognize his efforts and celebrate his contributions."
Block, who joined Nestlé Purina PetCare Company (formerly Ralston Purina Company) in 1977, is humbled to receive CHF's recognition: "Purina's decision 15 years ago to sponsor and support the Canine Health Foundation continues to pay huge dividends for all dogs. I am proud to accept this award on behalf of Nestlé Purina's 7,000 associates in the United States."
