Web entrepreneur Marcia Heatley is pleased to unveil her new blog, FlairOfTheDogBlog.com. The interactive platform is a complement to Heatley’s online dog clothing and accessories boutique, FlairOfTheDog.com.
The e-commerce site made its debut in October 2010. “I was inspired to start this business because of the passion I have for dogs,” said Heatley. “They are just so adorable, especially small dogs.”
Each item of clothing is handmade, to order, by talented seamstresses from California and Texas. No canine outfit is complete without accessories. The site offers outfits, raincoats and shirts for pooches even unique Swarovski pendants and sparkling necklaces.
Heatley has also established a unique relationship with Alyson Whitney, an American designer and creator of Chowtime Productions. Whitney hand paints whimsical scenes on dog bowls and matching treat jars. Each piece is painted three to four times to achieve strong, opaque colors, and then is bisque fired, glazed with lead-free glaze and fired a second time. This renders each item food and dishwasher safe.
“These ceramic pieces are truly one-of-a-kind,” said Heatley. “Colors can even be adjusted to better match the physical appearance of a pet.”
Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance at FlairOfTheDog.com. Each piece of inventory is screened for quality and price, and then displayed on the colorful, easy to navigate website. In addition to photos and detailed descriptions, the site has a handy sizing chart, complete with instructions on how to properly measure a dog. As the pieces are custom-made, it takes approximately two weeks for orders to be produced and shipped. Customer feedback is always welcome, and questions are answered in a timely manner by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member.
