Dog Fancy Magazine Names Knoxville, Tenn. "Most Dog Friendly City in the Southwest"
In Knoxville, Tenn., pets are doted upon, looked after and treated with the best care, so it’s no wonder that the city was recently named “The Most Dog Friendly City in the Southeast,” by Dog Fancy Magazine.
Knoxville boasts numerous pet organizations, breed rescue groups, shelters and spay/neuter clinics and the city is home to the one of the most prestigious veterinary programs in the nation, the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Knoxville hosts many pet friendly events such as Mardi Growl, Bark in the Park, Doggie Date Night and Yappy Hour. Also, the first ever Morris Animal Foundation K-9 Cancer Walk in Knoxville, spocored by PetSafe, will be held in September.
In addition, the city has four dog parks with two more being developed and the city is also extremely accommodating to pets as more and more restaurants welcome pets on their patios.This issue of Dog Fancy Magazine hits newsstands on August 23, 2011.
