Freshpet, a manufacturer and marketer of fresh, refrigerated dog food, has launched a national television campaign, developed by Darling Advertising Agency. The campaign will promote the Freshpet Select line of refrigerated dog and cat foods, which is available in approximately 6,500 grocery and mass merchant stores.
The commercials will being airing in October, following the first wave of commercials that aired in late June on ABC, CBS, NBC and cable channels such as the Animal Planet, Lifetime, Food Network and Oxygen.
The company is targeting empty nesters, aged 45 to 54, with household incomes of $100,000 or more, according to Kathryn Winstanley, vice president of marketing. In addition to TV, Freshpet will also use social media and continues to test the success of print, billboards and other media that are being used to promote the dog and cat foods.
