Moochie & Co. Expand Products and Brick and Mortar Stores
Moochie & Co., a specialty pet product retailer, adds two full-sized stores in Penn. One store is housed in the Ross Park Mall and the other in South Hills Village in Pittsburgh. The company has locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
The company cited a couple reasons for selecting Pittsburgh. First, it’s dog-friendly and has a high percentage of dog owners. Second, it experiences colder temperatures in the fall and winter. Bell said the company prefers to operate in cooler climates because it helps drive dog sweater and jacket sales. Lastly, Pittsburgh is relatively close to the company’s headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
“Everything in the store is cool, sophisticated and fun, but none of it is completely frivolous or overly pricey,” said Mike Dagne, president and founder of Moochie & Co. “Our product mix emphasizes style, quality and function.” Products offered online and in stores range from toys and treats to apparel and beauty products.
Moochie & Co. has also expanded its recently launched wholesale line of dog apparel to include health and beauty aids. Moochie & Co. has renamed the line The Worthy Dog. Previously it was called Moochie & Co., but some retailers preferred not to have a direct competitor’s brand name in their stores, said product manager Jackie Corbett.
The Worthy Dog line will be on display at the World Pet Association’s SuperZoo trade show in Las Vegas in September. For more information visit the company website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
