About 23 Dogtopia stores in 10 states are expected to participate July 16 in the company's 7th Annual Charity Dog Wash in Pleasanton, Calif. to benefit Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization.
Canine Companions for Independence aims is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
The dog wash will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dogtopia, 7132 Johnson Drive, Suite D. Similar events are happening throughout the nation over the weekend. Dogtopia has set out to raise $25,000 for working canines across the United States.
Proceeds from the Dogtopia dog washes will defer costs for equipment such as ballistic vests, safety harnesses and the outfitting of cars. For more information go to the Canine Companions for Independence website at www.cci.org.
