DogTime Media, a vertical media community that is pet focused, recently announced the winners of their 2012 DogTime Pet Blog Awards, aka “The Petties.” The awards were broadcast online on DogTime.com on October 12, 2012.
DogTime Media President, Simon Tonner, shared, “I was excited to see such a diverse group of nominees this year, stemming from the over 20,000 nominations and a record level of activity across a variety of social media platforms."
This year the 2011 Petties recognized many nominees chosen by their fellow bloggers and pet lovers from across the DogTime Media community. Since the inception of the Petties in 2010, a total of $52,000 has been donated to shelters and rescues on behalf of bloggers.
The winners of this year’s awards will each get a $1,000 donation to the non-profit animal shelter or rescue of their choice, along with a custom Petties trophy, a "Petties Winner" badge for their blog site, a package of editorial coverage.
Many of the winners of The Petties were also nominees and/or winners in the BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogger Awards, which were held red carpet style in Salt Lake City, Utah, in June at the annual BlogPaws conference.
