Association of Pet Dog Trainers Will Hold 2012 Annual Show
The annual conference and trade show of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) will take place in Covington, Kentucky from October 17 through October 21, 2012.
It is believed that almost 1,0000 dog trainers will attend the annual five day event of networking, speakers, workshops, and sessions. Workshops include live demo, hands on, and interactive.
Some of the speakers on this year’s agenda include Teoti Anderson, Robin Bennett, Steve White, and Gail Fisher. In addition to the conference, the trade show will showcase treats, training tools, and dog care items.
Mychelle Blake, president of APDT, reported, “This conference is a great way for top training professionals as well as beginners to get together and feel motivated all over again for their interesting, rewarding, yet challenging profession. Not only do trainers have to know about dog behavior, training techniques and human psychology, but also how to be a strong successful business professional and grow their business.”
Blake further reported that anyone in the dog care industry can benefit from attending including those who work as a vet tech, veterinarian, shelter worker, groomer or pet sitter who wants to know more about training and dog behavior.
APDT was founded in 1993 by Ian Dunbar DVM, Ph.D. as a forum for trainers to associate with one another and to discuss topics of mutual interest. Membership has grown to over 6,000 members worldwide.
The APDT and its activities are governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees which is made up of five elected members from around the world.
