Pets Add Life (PAL), a non-profit campaign found by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) has announced an invitation to animal shelters to enter the “Help a Shelter Out” Facebook contest for the opportunity to win $10,000 in cash as a grand prize along with runner-up cash prizes.
To gain entry into the contest, shelters must first become a PAL fan on Facebook by visiting www.facebook.com/PetsAddLife and completing the entry form. The shelter that gains the most votes from now through November 16, 2012, will be announced as the winner. During PAL’s National Get a Pal for Your Pet Day, November 19, 2012, winners will be announced.
PAL is a non-profit campaign founded by APPA. The APPA was formed in 1958 and is the leading not-for-profit trade association of over 1,000 pet product manufacturers, their representatives, importers and livestock suppliers.
Bob Vetere, APPA President, shared, “The contest is also a great way for communities to get involved and rally around their local shelters to support our ultimate mission of finding great homes and families for so many deserving animals.”
To participate, shelters can nominate themselves or PAL Facebook fans can enter their local shelter. Entrants must ‘like’ PAL’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/petsaddlife and complete the “Help a Shelter Out” entry form. A $10,000 grand prize will be awarded to the shelter that receives the most votes followed by $3,000 and $2,000 cash prizes awarded to two runner-ups. Voting is limited to one vote per day per fan.
APPA membership is open to pet product manufacturers who have a manufacturing facility or warehouse in the United States and meet specific membership requirements listed on the APPA website. Active members receive applicable membership benefits and full voting privileges.
The Pets Add Life campaign is designed to demonstrate the joys and benefits of pet ownership, and help to drive increased adoption of pets and responsible ownership of pets.
