Lisa Rogak is an independent book author and magazine journalist who has been in the business for 30 years. Rogak has covered everything from sabbaticals to baby names to funeral food customs, though in the last few years she focused on writing biographies.
Lisa is the author of author of a new book on working dogs to be published by St. Martin’s Press/Griffin next month: DOGS OF COURAGE: The Heroism and Heart of Working Dogs Around the World. Her previous book -- Dogs of War: The Courage, Love, and Loyalty of Military Working Dogs -- was featured in the Washington Post, AOL's Front Page, the Huffington Post, and many other publications.
In November 2008, Lisa hit a personal milestone when her book Barack Obama In His Own Words hit the New York Times Bestsellers list.
And in January 2010, her biography, Haunted Heart: The Life & Times of Stephen King, was nominated for an Edgar, from the Mystery Writers of America, in the Best Critical/Biographical category.
