Retail Grooming Salon of the Year Awarded at SuperZoo
Superzoo, the annual pet retailer show held recently at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, hosted the 24th Annual Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards at this year's trade show.
The awards presentation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 5:30 p.m. at SuperZoo's Groomer SuperShow at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. One of the award recipients that evening was The Village Groomer and Pet Supply of Walpole, which took home the award form Retail Grooming Salon of the Year (5 units or less).
The grooming awards are dubbed the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards and were founded in 1988 by Cardinal President Tony de Vos and Shirlee Kalstone, then owner of the International Intergroom Trade Show. The purpose of the awards is to establish grooming standards and recognize professional skills in the competitive grooming industry.
Village Groomer and Pet Supply was founded in 1969 and is located in Walpole, Massachusetts. It was founded by David Salzberg for whom the grooming award, David G. Salzberg Cardinal Crystal Award, is named. The Village Groomer is a full-service pet salon.
Tony de Vos, president of Cardinal Pet Care, a major manufacturer of pet products and sponsor of the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards, stated, “The Village Groomer and Pet Supply has been such an icon in the grooming industry for over 40 years, setting the standard to which many salons today aspire.”
