Pet Care Pavilion Will Debut at Private Label Trade Show
A new Pet Care Pavilion will debut at the 2012 Private Label Trade Show taking place at the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) will trade show from November 11 through November 13 in Chicago, Illinois.
Brian Sharoff, president of PLMA, stated, “The pet category has been growing in a number of ways with premium, natural and organic foods, and certain retailers are pioneering that product range.” He also reported that the pet category is being noticed by supermarkets, mass merchandisers and drug chains, so smaller independent pet retailers would be wise to consider including their own brand in order to compete.
It is reported that in traditional channel, private-label encompasses unit market shares of 12.9 percent in pet foods and 17.4 percent in pet supplies, which includes toys and accessories.
PMLA is expecting at least 50 exhibitors that will focus on pet foods, pet care and other similar related products in the Pet Care Pavilion. Sharoff reported, “For those smaller retailers that want to be in private label, our exhibitors have the experience and knowledge to help them.”
The 2012 show will feature over 2,000 exhibits with food, snacks and beverages, household, and kitchen products, General Merchandise, and health and beauty products along with pet care. Over 35 countries will be represented on the show floor, including over ten national pavilions.
The show will be held at the Rosemont Convention Center, which is 10 minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. In addition to the networking and booths, there will be seminars and workshops on the latest private label trends and PLMA’s Weekend with St. Joe’s for sales and marketing professionals who want to seriously learn about the industry.
