Springer America Introduces Multiple Dog Bike Attachment
The exclusive distributor of the Springer Dog Exerciser in North and South America, Springer America, recently released the Springer Xtra Arm Kit, designed for bike enthusiasts to ride with multiple dogs on both sides of their bikes.
As a result of customer requests, the Springer Xtra Arm allows the user to replace the single bolt of the original Springer Dog Exerciser with the new dual bolt and then slide on the Springer Xtra Arm. According to the American Pet Products Association 2011-2012 survey, of the almost 78.2 million dog owners in the United States, about 22 million households own two dogs, with 9 million household owning three or more.
Springer also hopes this product will assist in exercising dogs that are overweight or obese, as determined by a veterinarian. The Association for Pet Obesity Prevention shares that 53 percent of adult dogs are overweight or obese, which can lead to health problems and shorter life expectancy.
Springer America President, Kjell Ottesen, revealed, “We know that daily exercise is a critical element in keeping our dogs healthy. So we are delighted to offer the Springer Xtra Arm Kits to our customers who want to run with two, three or even more dogs at one time.”
The Springer Xtra Arm Kit is priced at $69. The Springer Dog Exerciser enables dogs to run safely beside their owners via the bike attachment. It is low-mounted, made of heavy duty steel and absorbs up to 90% of the force of a dog’s unexpected tugs, according to the company. The company was formed in 1988 and over 600,000 dog bicycling fans have purchased the Springer over the years.
