Critter Connection Lands Trial of Product in Whole Foods
According to a report from Northern Nevada Business Weekly (NNBW), the founder of Critter Connection of Silver Springs, Leslie Moran, has landed a six-month contract with Whole Foods.
According to the American Pet Products Association, there are 16 million birds in nearly six million homes across the nation and that number is on the rise. Moran told NNBW that she believes she has developed the most nutritional bird food for members of the parrot species on the market today.
Moran is awaiting her initial vendor trial period to begin and shared that her firm is in the process of having their 100 percent organic bird food become a USDA-certified product. She hopes this will also assist in promoting international sales.
Moran has been worked with animals holistically since 1980 and has been awarded an honorary ministerial credential. She began writing for Parrots Magazine in 2002. The magazine is published in England and has international distribution in over 60 countries. Her monthly column, ‘The Holistic Parrot,’ appears in each issue. In addition, Moran has appeared in other publications including Whole Horse Journal, Animal Wellness, Whole Dog Journal, Whole Cat Journal, Wolf Clan, and Tiger Tribe.
“I have provided them with numbers that demonstrate if only 1 percent of the people who own birds within that Zip Code buy my product, it will be successful,” Moran shared with NNBW. “I’ve been trying to get into Whole Foods for three years.”
Moran relies on a small team of advisers at the Small Business Development Center at the University of Nevada and has twice weekly teleconference calls advising her on how to drive buyers to her website.
