NexPet, a pet store association that helps independent pet store retailers be more profitable, announced it has scheduled its 8th National Convention and Manufacturer Mini Show at the Orange County Convention Center to be held one day before the start of Global Pet Expo 2013.
There are over 500 independent pet and pet supply retailers that are a part of NexPet, which offers a large number of financial benefits to its members in 48 states throughout the United States.
The mini show is slated to take place on February 19, 2013. NexPet has helped with the success of full-line stories that carry aquatics, bird or reptile specialty stores, livestock, and dog and cat specialty stores with anywhere between three and fifteen stories under the same ownership. By combining their buying power and sharing best practices, NexPet members are more diligently able to compete with larger chains.
NexPet is the only national pet store association designed for independent pet store retailers in the USA. Members are able to partake in professional marketing programs and rebates on major pet supply lines, discounts on product bought directly, and savings on things like store equipment and medical insurance.
For co-op members who attend the entire program in February, a free six-month membership to NexPet will be given. The co-op is headquartered in New York City and it is anticipated that at least 175 independent pet retailers will be present for vendors.
Bob Negen of Whizbang! Training of Grand Haven, a retail expert, is scheduled to deliver two presentations. Featured will also be Roundtable sessions, including the topics “Growing Sales & Margins in Dog & Cat” and “Aquatics: Coping with Internet Competition & Other Success Tips.”
