Author Elaine Marlier has penned a series of books dealing with animal adoption: Without a Home: Inspiring and Heartfelt Tales of Animal Adoptions. One book is devoted to dogs, one to cats and the third to small animals.
Marlier shared, “The books truly reveal the hearts, minds and souls of animals, and we want to help the younger generation find compassion for the animals. Just as it is believed that kids who abuse animals will grow up to abuse people, and have no regard for human life, I believe that kids who have a kindness and compassion for the animals at a young age, will grow up and have that same compassion and kindness for humans. The younger generation as they grow up can make a big difference in creating a world of no more homeless pets.”
Monies from the books are used for rescues and shelters and to help them raise efforts in caring for the animals. In the past two years, Marlier reported raising over $12,000 and with what has been raised so far in 2012, the funds are over $15,000.
She revealed, “By encouraging adoption, and helping people see animals for what they are, we are making an impact and a difference for those animals. We also use the books to raise money for rescues and shelters to help them in their efforts to care for the animals. In the past two years we have raised over $12,000 and with what we have raised so far this year, we are over $15,000.”
In addition to writing, Marlier has a full-time job in the pet industry and owns three adopted dogs and two adopted cats. She can be reached through www.dnjbooks.com.
