The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) will hold its Annual Conference, "Championing the Challenge," in Vancouver , British Columbia, at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel.
On Oct. 18, 2012, before the conference's registration opens, VHMA's one-day Legal Symposium – "Hiring, Firing & the Law" , will be held at the same place.
The VHMA’s annual conference and meeting, this year with the theme, “Championing the Challenge,” will be held from October 18 through October 21, 2012, at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel in Vancouver. The conference offers attendees the opportunity to gain 15.5 continuing education credits, 16.5 for CVPMs.
Formed in 1981, the VHMA provides individuals actively involved in veterinary practice management the means to effectively communicate and interact. VHMA also certifies managers who earn the designation of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). To achieve this, the process includes a comprehensive application, a written examination of multiple-choice questions and a commitment to ongoing education.
As part of the conference, roundtable discussions will be held. In order to allow for targeted feedback and interaction, the roundtable discussions are broken into 6 to 10 people per table. With a predetermined topic, in-depth discussion on one or more subject matters ensues. Discussionsn generally range from 15 to 30 minutes and are time limited.
According to the association’s latest release, VHMA meetings are always structured to allow attendees adequate time to engage in collaborative dialogue with others in the profession.
