Animal Medical Center Names New Chief Medical Officer
The Animal Medical Center (AMC) located on the Upper East Side in New York City recently named Richard E. Goldstein DVM, DACVIM, DECVIM-CA to the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Goldstein will be responsible for leading AMC’s medical staff consisting of over 80 veterinarians who work across 17 specialized vet services in a 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-aweek platform. He also oversees AMC’s postgraduate education program.
The Animal Medical Center is the first and only veterinary facility in the United States to include Interventional Radiology & Endoscopy via a suite, coupling that with therapeutic options by offering complete IR/IE services led by world-class, veterinary interventional experts, Drs. Chick Weisse and Allyson Berent.

Goldstein has a dual board certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine as well as the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Companion Animals. As a graduate of Koret School of Veterinary Internal Medicine, along with the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Israel, He also performed a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of California at Davis.
Amongst plans revealed, Goldstein will harness the new electronic medical records system in helping to drive evidence-based medicine outcomes and best practices at The AMC.
