Pet Loo, the company that touts its “backyard in a box for pet owners”, has launched Fresh Air Cat Litter, a triple action odor and bacteria-eliminating litter. According to the company, this is the world’s “first and only” product of its kind and is available online, at Petco stores Sept. 1 and at independent retailers across the U.S. and Canada throughout September.
The Pet Loo is a lawn toilet designed for pet waste to be contained in one designated area and ensures peace of mind for extended stays away from the home. For people who live in an apartment or need a solution to toilet training, the Pet Loo markets itself as hygienic and environmentally friendly.
Tobi Skovron, who came up with the idea at age 23, first realized he needed the product while living in a high-rise apartment in Melbourne, Australia, with his dog. Needing a solution for pet waste without having to descend and ascend the stairs, he and his wife, Simone, launched The Pet Loo in 2006.
The new Fresh Air Cat Litter product has a patented odor eliminating pad designed to prevent bacteria growth in the litter box, with no removal of clumps required. The company reports pre-sales of 60,000 units which are anticipated to reach 100,000 units by September 1, 2012. Skovron’s goal is to grow to 1 million units per month as the product hits the market.
Skovron shared, “Our current and future success is a direct result of the time and effort we dedicated toward testing and perfecting this product over the past two years. We are proud to bring an innovative cat litter option to the industry and to pet owners worldwide.”
