BJ Bangs is what you truly call a cat person – being a cat mom to five very special feline friends. Her goal is to combine her love of cats and her years of writing experience to educate people about feline issues. “What I’ve found is there are endless cat related things to write about,” she said. She’s blogged about everything from overpopulation, FIP, to sharing videos of the Augusta, Maine cat show.
Her newest venture is to share tales of Lenny who was rescued from a brush pile at one-week old. She and surrogate mom Kimberly shared responsibilities, and now Lenny has joined BJ’s feline family.
Knowing that her ultimate goal was to establish herself as a credible knowledgeable cat writer, the buzz she was getting was that if you ever wanted to write a book or be published, it was a must to have a blog. So in mid-October of last year, she took the plunge and started blogging about mostly cats.
Her blog, Paws for Reflection’s title is very deliberate in that it keeps the door open to write about a whole host of issues. There’s no doubt that the internet and social media have opened doors that didn’t exist before. If people read my blog posting, they will see that I’m not just another fly by night “wanna-be.”
BJ describes herself as a journalist/photographer/communications person that has developed a real love for cats, and wants to share that love by writing about issues that impact them. Cats have an unconditional love, and that’s one thing that makes them special. No two are alike, and they know when you are down, or upset, or happy and jubilant. They stick by you as best friends no matter what hard balls life throws at you. They are the most unbelievable creatures. That’s the message she strives to bring readers at Paws for Reflection.
She is a professional member of the Cat Writers Association and a member of the online pet community at BlogPaws. She can be contacted through the contact form on her blog, on Twitter at @bjbangs; on pinterest at http://pinterest.com/bjbangs/, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/bj.bangs and on Google + and LinkedIn where she’s met a whole host of new pet people.
