Snazzy Jazzy Pet, an online boutique featuring products from designers and artisans along with goods and custom products for pets and their people, opened an online shop.
Founded by Nancy Dewar, Snazzy Jazzy was named for Dewar’s Portuguese Water Dog, whom she rescued as an abused champion show dog in 2000. Dewar had a 20-year career in advertising and spent 15 years as an entrepreneur. Some of her clients included Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Burger King and Kay Jewelers.
Dewar wrote and published two books relating to pets and also crated Bottle Raps, greeting cards for wine. She is passionate about design and renovated and flipped several homes along with producing photo shoots for L.L. Bean, J. Jill, and other clients.
Located on the Seacoast of New Hampshire, Dewar operates with a small staff. According to an article in SeaCoastOnline.com, Dewar and team find products by searching the Internet on sites including Pinterest. They feature new collections weekly and include a three- to seven-day period of time where products are sold for 50 percent off regular price.
Some of the company’s top sellers have included coiled, tangle-free leashes and their own “Wag Bag,” featuring the slogan, “Life life with a wag,” which is the website’s motto.
Dewar revealed that most shoppers to the site are women and that clientele is nationwide. She attributes the draw to the site due to the “humanization of pets” happening cross country. Her immediate plans include expanding the Snazzy Jazzy Pet Line. The boutique is presently online but she revealed that one day there could be a Snazzy Jazzy pet shop.
