Jambowan Launches Jantooz Facebook App for Pets and Owners
A new social application designed by pet lovers and for pet lovers, Jantooz, has been launched by Jambowan, Inc., a technology startup company. Jantooz is a free Facebook application in its Beta version and the first flagship product of Jambowan.
“Jantooz” is a word loosely derived from a Sanskrit word “Jantu”, which means an adorable animal. The new app is designed to provide an array of games and pet-related applications via one social platform on Facebook. Srikanth Devarajan, the CEO of Jambowan Inc., reported that the mission of Jantooz is based on a Mahatma Gandhi quote with, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
By harnessing social networking, collaboration, and collective intelligence, Devarajan hopes that Jantooz will be embraced by pet lovers.
Some of the initial features with the launch of Jantooz Beta include a pet profile, memoirs, pet appointments and brag boards; lost pets section; Jantooz World to meet and connect with pets around the globe; social networking actions dubbed “Hoots” and “Sniff;” and a memorial section where owners of deceased pets can keep their pets’ memory alive and allow friends to remember them.
The flagship product was launched on July 19, 2012, and the Jantooz team reports working on adding additional capabilities and features for their next version.
In addition to the above-mentioned features, users of the app can search for dog walkers, pet sitters, groomers, chart pets’ diets, adopt new pets, and collaborate and chat with other dog lovers.
