Eric is the owner of Dog Spelled Forward dog training and private consultation business, which also has its own blog.
“My experience as a trainer has taught me that the best way to accomplish both is through training that strengthens the bond between you and your dog,” Eric shared.
A CPDT (Certified Pet Dog Trainer), Eric learned dog-friendly training processes at St. Hubert’s Dog Training School, where he became an instructor. He continued his education with an Internship at Pat Miller’s Peaceable Paws and Level One and Two Instructor Training Course with Dogs of Course.
Eric shares his knowledge of dog training through classes, his blog, website, and email. He became a trainer after adopting a puppy, named Caffeine, who provided Eric and his wife with “more than a few headaches.” As Eric learned to communicate with the dog, he feels they became closer and formed a bond.
The Dog Spelled Forward blog shares videos and training assistance. He is also a regular blogger at Dr. Ian Dunbar’s Dog Star Daily. Eric’s other credentials include CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed), Member of the Board of Directors of IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior), Associate Certified Dog Behavior Consultant with the IAABC, Communications Director of the International Association of Behavior Consultants, Professional Member, APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), and Instructor at St. Hubert’s Dog Training School in Madison, NJ, where he also apprenticed.
