Gabriella Martinez is a marketing professional in the Rochester, NY community. Her career in the pet industry started in 2007 when she founded A Barkers Dozen Gourmet Dog Treats. A Barkers Dozen originally began as a fundraiser to help cover the medical expenses for a dog in need. Since then, Gabriella’s intricately decorated treats have been featured in various publications such as People Pets, Dog Tipper and several local papers.
In October 2011, Gabriella founded Pup Culture Magazine, an online dog magazine dedicated to furthering and enhancing the human/canine bond.
Since the creation of Pup Culture Magazine, Gabriella and her dedicated staff have covered many important issues and trends such as the truth about puppy mills, the importance of adopting pets, animal health and wellness, dog behavior and the latest trends canine culture.
While Gabriella has always been a dog-lover, it wasn’t until age 21 that she was able to own her first dog, a loving black lab named Andre. Sadly, Andre’s life was taken in 2005 when he was the victim of a hit-and-run after he escaped from a fenced in yard.
Realizing she could never live without a dog in her life, Gabriella brought her yellow lab named Andrea into her heart and home. She currently owns 6 cats, two of which are fosters, and two additional dogs Dante and Apollo.
Gabriella earned her Bachelors of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Printing and Publishing, Photographic Arts and Sciences, Marketing and Psychology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2008.
