PetSmart, Inc., has named Paulette Dodson to the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Dodson comes to PetSmart having recently served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Sara Lee Corp. She garnered over $9 million in revenue while at Sara Lee, with 25,000 employees worldwide, and was the global manufacturer and marketer of Sara Lee products, as well as others.
Bob Moran, PetSmart's chairman and CEO, shared, “We're very excited to have Paulette join PetSmart. She has extensive expertise in a broad-based corporate legal support setting across multiple industries including consumer goods, and she'll be a valuable addition to our leadership team."
Dodson was also employed by the Tribune Company, which owns The Chicago Tribune and The Los Angeles Times, for 14 years. She served as counsel for publishing from 1992 to 2000, and from 2000 to 2007, she was assistant general counsel for publishing. Her background also includes roles at Inland Steel as operations attorney as well as corporate finance associate at Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a Jamaican native and earned her Bachelor’s degree from City College of New York and a law degree from Cornell Law School.
