Penny Sansevieri is a published author of numerous books and the founder of Author Marketing Experts (AME), which has promoted authors online, securing them publicity and media coverage. Sansevieri was a speaker at the BlogPaws 2012 conference in Salt Lake City, co-presenting with New York Times best-selling author of titles such as The Dog Who Knew Too Much, To Fetch a Thief, and Thereby Hangs a Tail, Spencer Quinn, and published author, Dorothy Hearst.
“I started Author Marketing Experts, Inc. because I’m an author and I wanted to give authors a company that understood them, knew the publishing industry and knew what they wanted,” Sansevieri said. “I started teaching for NYU in the Spring of 2010 and I can’t tell you what it meant to be a part of that experience. I loved every minute of it even though I commuted from San Diego to New York every week (no, I’m not kidding, American Airlines might name a plane after me). I got to work with some amazing students talking about how to get published. Doing what I love at a place like NYU? It was in a word: incredible.
Some of the titles in Sansevieri’s published portfolio include Red Hot Internet Publicity, Get Published Today, and From Book to Bestseller.
As Penny shared, “We’ve had bestsellers, we’ve had books that have been optioned as movies, and we’ve even done a celeb book (or two). But our biggest successes aren’t the ones that hit the New York Times. Our best stories are those authors who started without a platform, just their first book in hand, hoping for the best. If we can take that author and get them heard above the noise that exists in our business today, then we have truly done our job. That is success.”
