Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform designed for people to create fundraising campaigns, is home to a new dog leash and collar combination called supercollar.
Indiegogo allows people to create a campaign, retain 100 percent ownership of it, and not pay any fees until the idea begins making money. There is no cost to join Indiegogo, and four percent of money raised is charged if people meet their goal, with nine percent for those who do not meet their goal.
The supercollar is a product designed and manufactured in the United States. It has a patented built-in leash and designed so pet parents will not need to “look” for their dog’s leash when time to go out or for a walk.
Jane Angelich CEO of supercollar, shared, “It's about time collars and leashes evolved like every other technology. The supercollar(R) makes life easier for pets and their people -- who doesn't want that? So we're asking for the pet-loving public's help to keep supercollar made right here in the USA."
The supercollar was chosen in 2011 by British Airways as a “Face-of-Opportunity winner.” During this time, Angelich met a founder of Indiegogo and explained their business. For a pet product company to participate in the crowdfunding arena is rare. Supercollar hopes to raise over $75,000 in the next six weeks.
Indiegogo allows for global access anywhere in the world as long as the registrant has a valid bank account. Campaigns may be launched for anything, including for-profit ventures as well as creative ideas and personal needs. They also promote campaigns based on what is dubbed the “gogofactor,” a merit-based algorithm that tracks campaign activity.
