The Wellness brand line of natural food for pets has announced 49 SKUs to their product line. The line was launched in 1997, with foods targeting the special needs of dogs and cats.
Many of the newest Wellness products are targeted for pets with food sensitivities or allergies. There are 12 additions to the WellnessCORE grain-free recipe line for cats and nine new WellnessCORE grain-free recipes for dogs. In addition, 16 newly formulated WellnessSimple recipes were revealed, including Limited Ingredient Diet for Dogs, and 12 extensions to the line of grain-free Wellness Cubed, Sliced and MincedCanned Cat Cuts recipes.
Thano Chaltas, chief marketing officer, at WellPet, stated, “We've heard from many pet parents who are looking to help manage their pets' food sensitivities and allergies, and from those looking for more grain-free nutrition options.”
The new recipes do not contain fillers, corn, soy, or artificial colors, according to the company. The line has also been expanded to include a turkey and potato formula. In addition to the salmon and potato formula, these are grain-free pet foods.
Cat foods from Wellness that have been launched include canned cuts that have three textures: Sliced, cubed, or minced. The size of the can is now a 5.5 variety. The line includes nine flavors and one of them is minced salmon dinner in a 3 ounce can and minced turkey and salmon entrees in both 3 and 5.5 ounce cans. The new Wellness Natural Pet Food Recipes were launched nationwide at pet specialty retailers in May, 2012.
