Tuesday, Jun 5, 2012 8:26 am
Lickety Stik, a liquid roller-ball product designed for pets to lick, has launched its Lickety Stix Big Dog promotion for pet specialty dealers across the United States.
Manufactured by PetSafe, the largest manufacturer of electronic pet training products in the United States, Lickety Stik is a product that pet parents shake, twist, and serve for a treat and/or in the training process.
Tracey Quillin, category manager at PetSafe, shared, “We’re not only creating a new dog treat category, we’re providing retailers with a complete tool kit of merchandising aids to help them ring up more sales.”
When retailers place a minimum stocking order, they will also receive a floor display pre-stocked with 48 bottles and a sampling kit that includes a backpack, T-shirts, coupons, brochures and 50 samples, at no additional cost.
Originally designed and made for dogs, PetSafe recently extended the line to include a Lickety Stix product for cats. With a re-working of its roller ball dispenser, which is smaller, cats can easy grip the roller ball with their tongue. Flavors available to cats include salmon, tuna, chicken, turkey, dairy, and beef.
For dogs, Lickety Stik are available in three flavors: chicken, liver, and bacon. Intended to provide dogs with the same flavor and satisfaction as a moist and/or baked treat, Lickety Stik are marketed as having no sticky mess of other treats. A liquid treat, each bottle dispenses over 500 licks to dogs as they lick the roller ball top.
Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee since its inception in 1991, PetSafe has over 400 employees who are allowed to bring their dogs to work daily. The company made its debut with the In-Ground Radio Fence system and is now home to SportDOG brand and other brands like Premier Pet Products, Drinkwell Pet Fountains, and Innotek training products.
